Welcome! Not sure about a book, but lots of good reading here and videos on YouTube. I wouldn't start a refugium until it's a little more established.

Welcome Aboard
As far as books go Dynamic Aquaria is a good read. Typically you would want to wait until you have some sort of bioload to sustain the life in the refugium so I personally would wait until you have some inhabitants. Also here's a link to a great video on refugiums.
