New tank

I currently have a 36 gallon tank with 3 damsels and 2 small corals (only a month old). I recently had a 75 gal given to me with stand. I plan on making it salt water with corals and fish. I am trying to figure out the best kind of filter for the tank. I am thinking a sump with a protein skimmer. Not sure if this is a good idea since my tank doesn’t have the overflow. Any way around that?

You can just get a hang on back overflow and do a sump that way.
