Sucks... bought into this because I'm going on a 10 day trip. Alk according to apex swings 2-3dkh in hours... Has been alerting my phone all day by hanna says I'm rock solid.

I sold mine after giving it a years worth of second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth chances.
Not worth the hassle, expense, and lack of confidence. When you need to test your water to test your auto tester what is the point?

A little X1 doser on a schedule based on your daily consumption would get you through your 10 days and keep your alk pretty close and only 1/10th the cost (and actually work).

I have a doser, Redsea. Point is for me to monitor my water. If I connected a DOS to this trident everything would be dead because there's not a chance in the world these swings are happening.

Just finished manual test...
Trident:
Alk 6.64
Hanna:
8.1
This is a huge diffence... being that my last Manul test was at 1:30... read 8.24 on trident
Not to mention the alarm at 12am this morning saying it was 11.75

Let it role for few days undisturbed and let us know the readings. I’m curious if they will level off or keep swinging. I mean .2 swing or so is acceptable but not what you have

Different machine but I didn't get the Mastertronic for same reason. I will do my tests by hand. I did get Alkatronic and that is rock solid. I will get Dosetronic for it to dose too.
Bud if your dosing for a while then your Alk is solid. 10 day trip is ok.
I went away for 30 days and my alk is fine.
You are not adding corals etc so Alk consumption should be fine. Now of your dosing was messed up then yes.
Buy before we go on trips atleast 30 days I don't do anything to my tank.
Just water changes amd monitor my tank to make sure everything is fine.
I say take the Trident offline . Do all this after your back.
Trident is ok, come back re calibrate, trouble shoot. If it doesn't work send it back for 30 day return.
Or sell 40 percent off in marketplace. I hope not jk.

So Update... ran the calibration yesturday at 4pm using the Calibration fluid. #s now have been pretty spot on and level. DkH off by .5 testing against my hanna... maybee just needed to break in a little? Next test is in 15 mins...hopefully she'll stay stable.

UPDATE: Trident ran threw its midday testing and still stable... I upped my CAL doser last night and Trident picked up on it. #s are within error of the Hannas. Happy now... not gonna lie was a lil nervous to start. I broke the #1 rule of "Patience" hahah

Honestly you should have waited few more days to calibrate but long as you happy no big deal and you can and will have to calibrate many more times thru your use of the trident.
