New to Acro

Not my corals or money, but you have had the corals a week they should probably be moved up.
I plant my Acropora when I get them where I want them. Higher up in the tank, you can always decrease the intensity of the LED.
Your right! Not your money or your corals, but a little help will be suffice. Like that kind of attitude! Why are you here if your gonna be negative?

@Texas Rick you might have better luck seeing polyp extension by checking at night after lights out. With a flashlight.

That rock and sand look pretty fresh and new. How long has the system been running? I ask because a "new" system can be a challenging environment for acropora.

Next question is about water parameters. It is a good practise to track these figures in an attempt to keep them AS STABLE AS POSSIBLE for acropora.

Salinity (1.025ish)
Temp (78ish)
Alkalinity (8ish)
Nitrates (5-10ish once established)
Phosphates (.04-.08ish once established)

Good luck and enjoy the ride!

Help

Move Acropora up is my suggestion.

You paid good money for those Acropora, and you want them to thrive. Sitting on the sand bed is not ideal.

Typically when a member takes the time to respond not once but twice I offer a thank you. :-)

How do i know Im doing it right with them if they cant tell me anything?
Coloration and encrusting at the base/vertical growth are what we look for. Also, if you have an actinic light source, you’ll see fluorescence in most sps and it’s also good sign you’re on the right path.

A year old, the rock is 4 months old. The sand, i replace it as i siphon or remove some of it. The Parameters are as follows, I'm missing for the Phosphate and Alkalinity test kits. Waiting fot them to come in.

Salinity 1.025
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0 (which im feeding my fish more often to bring it up)
Ammonia 0
PH 8.0 to 8.15
Calcium 450
Magnesium 1350

Unless you have fish deaths, you can skip testing ammonia and nitrate as your cycle is done.

You should pick up an ALK test kit. Salifert is fine. Hanna also good.

You mean Nitrite. :)

@Texas Rick Alk, NO3, and PO4 are the most important in my opinion for SPS. I test ALK daily to keep consistent levels. Like @Tahoe61 said, I would move them up. SPS needs a lot of light and flow. Get em up higher and raise your nutrients. Give them time and stability and the PE will be good in no time.

@Texas Rick did you bring your UV light from your shop and see if the coral glow at night?
Yes, I did. I couldn’t see them at night. I’ve also moved them up to better flow. But I did noticed that the rest of the corals were extremely bright. I think I’m going to add a actinic light to the tank in addition of the kessil a160we light that I have. I’ve never seen them glow like it did with the black light
