Hello I bought a bali shortcake a pink limonade and a neon green birds nest I am 100% new to sps I will be running a mix reef the sps will be here Friday I also have a frog spawn a Hammer a gold tourch and a few blastos I have no clue on how to run the lights for a mixed tank I have a 29gallon biocube with a ai prime the tourch is up high the blasto are in the sand I run very low lights right now I know that wount work for sps what is a good point for a mixed tank ?

Euphyllia are usually not too picky so you should be fine I would start to slowly bring light up a little bit so your exsiting stuff can acclimate. I keep lps in my biocube my prime is 2 feet from water and I'm at 40 to 50 percent you you should go higher. I would say aim for 60 and see if the sps likes that. Also you can always move euphyllia until they get happy again. FYI I have seen people do it successfully but a mixed reef in a biocube is extremely difficult to keep everything happy you really have to stay on top of parameters once they are off it's very difficult to make corrections in such a small amount of water without further stressing one of your corals.

Hmm just guessing here but id crank that prime to almost 100% of everything. I'd place the SPS you just talked about half way up and adjust from there.

Put them under good high flow, check your phosphate and nitrate and slowly increase your light intensity. You will need high intensity but always increase them slowly over several weeks time period.

Thanks to all I also have a 10 gallon sump but still a small body of water I run carbon puragen and phosgard along with a protein skimmer and just orders some merical mud my prime sits in the hood of my biocube about 3 inches so should put some high lighting on the sps once there on top my parameters stay undetectable and my ph stays at 8.0 to 8.2 my sg is 1.024 to 1.025

Just my opinion but unless you have pretty decent flow through your sump, i would stay away from the Miracle Mud. Miracle mud works great for the right application, But the Mud is designed for higher flow and constant movement. Other wise it will just create major algae blooms.

Thanks for the heads up I have a decent flow and a 420gph power head in there
