Hi!
I just joined the forum but have had my 32 gallon biocube for the last year. Ive so far added; zoas, hammers, gsp, galaxea, lobo, sunset monti, and green birdsnest. All have either thrived or shown slow growth. This past week i took the plunge and bought a large piece of pink millepora off live aquaria. Ive never had acropora and was looking for advice as its my firat acro.
I replaced the stock light with an ai prime but plan to jerryrig the stock light for extra coverage. I’ve been dosing polyplab one for awhile and its keeping my parameters quite stable; alk~7.5, ca2+~400ish, no3-~10. I use two wavemakers opposite each other. Further i grow cheato in the back, and use the intank media rack and fuge, as well as the stock crappy skimmer( i plan to upgrade this eventually).
I guess specifically im wondering what others feed their milleporas, whether my lighting is sufficient, and how difficult are milleporas to care for?
Thanks for the help!
Anthony

Beautiful piece, I love the DD sps section.

A long aquacultred Millepora like Red Planet, Green Planet, Acropora Valida, any many old school pieces will prove more viable initially.

Sounds like you have it covered though on chemistry and lighting. Flow should be high and random. Might move the big 3 values up slowly.

I'm going to say your lighting will probably not be enough to keep that piece happy. There is lots of shading going on.

Also, any particular reason for mounting it vertical? Looks like it was a tabling acro, and will probably do best to keep it in a postion similar to how it was growing before.

Yeah im mounting the stock biocube led to a piece of wood to provide extra coverage for the time being in addition to the hd prime. I wasn’t aware it was a tabling acro? How do you think it should be mounted, horizontally??

My rock structure wouldnt seem to lend well to horizontal mounting so i may just keep it as is but get complete light coverage
