The title says all. Do i need to shut my skimmer off or can i keep it on is my main question anything else is a bonus.

It's an amino acid supplement. Not meant for target feeding. Just add it to high flow area and let it mix with your water. I would actually be afraid of target feeding it because you'll be blasting your corals with concentrated elements

I wish I had a sump...If I run carbon will that affect the affectiveness? Also I have the other tank 180 with a sump should the amino go in the sump then or the main display or half it...whats yalls experience and when did you notice it worked or hadn't worked.

dose during the day as it enhances photosynthetic response in the coral,i have been dosing daily with a DOS for about 2 months and have seen a clear difference in growth and color of my sps(low nutrient system)

Should i be using coral frenzy or some solid food to target feed coral along side this or will that just foul my water and should only use acropower?

Depends on the coral. Some like more meat some like tiny particles. Depends on the size of the mouth.

Amino's only really help people with ULNS (Ultra Low Nutrient Systems). The Amino Acids are the bare bone proteins necessary for corals to have nutrients to thrive on. If you have nutrients, Amino Acids won't do much if anything.

If your system is running an at no3 & po4 of around, 0/0 to 0.5/.01 you should notice some difference. If however, you are running no3 of 5+ and a po4 of .03+, you shouldn't really notice much of anything.

To put it simply -- Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein (biology stuff here), introducing Amino Acids is basically introducing trace amounts of nitrates to your system. I prefer to keep my no3 at a minimum of 5, upwards of 10.

Lastly -- Amino Power is extremely diluted. You ever pick up a bottle of something and it says to use one or two drops her 25g? Well, AP says to use quite a bit. I forget the actual number, but that means it's got a LOT of water content. If you fit the description of someone needing Amino Acids (ULNS system), I would advise looking into ME Corals, or maybe KZ Aminos. They're significantly more concentrated. But as with all concentrated items, make sure not to dose beyond it's recommendation unless you are extremely familiar with the product.

I was reccomended this product by an online fish store that I went to visit. I do run both tanks as ULNS because I do run a de-Nitrator to keep my nitrates at zero. Also I have heard relatively good sucess with this in ULNS and the other stuff seems more expensive but i know that is due to the concentration. Also just to get started with amino acds I think this will give me a little bit more wiggle room if i mess up some where . For instance I am using a DP4 doser and if it somehow malfunctions and doses 15ml instead of 10 I wont destroy the tank with algae and stuff. Thank you for the comment. :)

No problem. When my nano was up and going through a ULNS phase I dosed 2-3x recommendation of Acro Power and it really helped color up some corals. These days if I need no3, I dose no3 haha.

do you think if I ran the Po4 up to around.05 would that help as well as dosing this stuff or should i keep it near zero?

It's fine keeping it low. Your no3 will remain low and your po4 will typically creep up marginally from fish foods. If what you're doing now is working for you, stay the course.
