New to Apex Jr.

Ok, so the energy bar counts as 1 module, but I can have 8 devices plugged in. So basically, I can hook up an I/o switch to a ph module, add an energy bar and write programs off the I/o inputs. That would be 3 modules plus the display

The i/o switch won't count as a module but the ph module will. You would have 2 plus the display. So 3 total.

So I got the Apex today. First off, the display module is an ugly silver now with an Orange backlight that doesn't turn off?? All the pictures on the website and even on the box show the black display. This is a big problem for me because my entire setup is black. The decor of the room is black, and the Current controller is black.

Also, I cannot seem to find the where I can monitor the current of the outlets. I googled it quickly and found that on the JR you cannot monitor the current??? That's one of the 2 main reasons I went with this unit. I even called Neptune before I bought to verify this and they told me that it could be done.

This isn't starting off too well.

Now with the programming. What am I doing wrong here? With this configuration (the temperature is 79.2 degrees), if I set the outlet to "auto" it is not powered up. I have it set to ON and it works.

As far as the outlet goes, turn it on, then off, then put it in auto. It should control from there.

With your programming for temp it won't cut on until the temp drops below 70, you need to set that closer to 78 then set to auto and you will be good. You need a eb832 to monitor Outlets

Ok, I think I got it. I didn't understand how the parameters worked. I didn't know it had to get all the way down to the low number before it would turn on.

So I want the heater to use it's own thermostat to turn on and off and use the Apex as a safety to cut the power if something gets stuck on. I also wanted to be notified if the main heater failed.

I set the main heater to turn on at 80.5 and off at 81.5. This way the temperature should never reach 80.5 and the power will stay on. I will get an alert if the temperature hits 81.5.

On the other hand, I set the backup to turn on at 76.5 and off at 78.5. I'll get an alert if the temp gets to 77.
