new to aquarium photography (help)

HI I would like to get a nice camera. any models better for aquarium photography. also what would i need for taking pic with just blues running. thanks

Nikon and Canon are the basic preferred cameras for most with a macro 100mm lens (maybe L glass if you can afford it) I use the Sony Nex 7 with the kit lens 18-55 and it works well. because of the dynamics of the physics involved, The 55mmgives you like at 85 mm result with 24.1 mexapixels. Aside from this basic information, you can additionally research the better canon and nikon bodies to finailize your thoughts Bottomline, there is nothing like well focused,well designed photographs Other lens choices include the tamron 90mm macro lens.. You will want to purchase a program like lightroom or photoshop elements to quickly, easily be able to manage and edit your photographs post production. there is a lighting issue in our tanks becasue of the various spectrum we choose to light the tank. So to adjust that we either adjust the white balance in our camera settings and your camera should have that documentation. Most of the time, the camera settings are inadequate where they can be modified to a maximum of only 10k view although most tanks have a 20 k look. therefore, adjustment to white balance must be made in either lightroom or photoshope elements. These adjsustments can be easily made as long as you shoot your pictures in RAW. There are a handful of stickies in the photography section on how to correct lighting and white balance issue as well as dealing with and improving macro photography of the reef.

You are going to need a budget. Are you looking for a DSLR or Point & Shoot camera? Almost any camera can take good aquarium shots. In most cases, lighting is more important than having the top of the line camera. Look into cameras (DSLR or P&S) that give you the ability to use remote flashes. It is easier to adjust color tint and white balance on the computer, so photo editting software of some sort is needed. GIMP is a good one and it is free.

TRUST ME ON THIS BUY A DSLR. They are a little bit more expensive than point and shoots but, you will be able to keep it for years, DSLR's are professional quality cameras, and in some cases only cost $1-200 more than quality point and shoots.
