Which would be a better way to get started with coral: Using my 75G tank or utilizing my BioCube 29?
My 75G tank is utilizing a canister filter while the BioCube as a built in sump.
I want to venture into raising coral but I want to do it correctly. Both tank are fully cycled and params are close to great (nitrates are running about 30-40 on both). I won't be adding coral until I get the nitrates down to 0 or close to.

You looking to go sps, softie, LPS, or mixed? Also, what type of lighting on each? This answer is depending on those answers. I have noticed with my LPS and softies, a little bit of nitrate seems to do better. I tried to keep 0's across the board for a bit, but things looked to be starving. Let the trates creep up a bit and everything just took off. Even the few sps I have love it and colored up way brighter. (I'm about 5-10). I'd recommend starting with the cube (pending current livestock list). If started with the cube to get a hang of it, you could then frag your best pieces and transfer over to the 75, treating the 29 as a grow out in a sense. That's just my opinion though. Just make sure to maintain the mag, alk, and calc.

I was thinking of going LPS and softies. I am starting in my BioCube with the manufacturing lighting in place. Within the next 12 months I plan on updating the lighting on my 75G tank.

My parameters in my BioCube look outstanding, and I have put a zoanthid and a pulsing xenia in there. Both seem to be thriving.
Tank mates:
Kaudern's Cardinal
Maroon Clown
Orchid Dottyback
Sand Sifting Star
CUC - Reef hermits (5), Astraea Snail (2), Nerite Snail (5) Skunk Cleaner shrimp (1)

My nitrates run about 40 in my 75G. No matter how many water changes I do I can't seem to get my nitrates down. My bioload isn't too high.
Inhabitants:
Magnificent Foxface
Hippo Tang
Diamond back goby
Lawnmower blenny
Firefish (2)
long spine urchin
chocolate chip starfish
CUC - Hermit crabs (15), Coral Banded Shrimp, Nerite Snail (3), Emerald Crab
