I’m new to corals too. Is there a rule of thumb on when to remove or just leave the plug?

Looks fine so far. It’s still early though.

In general. For me, if something dies within the first week, I almost always blame that on the transfer process. Either lousy shipping, or a traumatic trip of some sort.

If it does some time after that, it’s something either pest related or my fault

No rule but they are unsightly and they can carry pests like aptasia.

It definitely had a traumatic trip. Supposed to arrive by noon, got here at 8:30pm. Water was pretty warm. UPS sucks!! That's why I was asking how it looks after 5 days.
