And can use some help.
I have a good mechanical doser but have never used it and am ready to begin keeping some corals. My issue.I am lost on how to initially start the dosing process.
I do know I need to get the readings but don't know where to go next.
D0 I do a single bulk dose of cal, mag, alk, to raise levels to the desired readings at once or do I start dosing with the pump in trickel increments ? At this time I have 3 coral and a shum.
And also, how do you know the amount of powder to mix with water to reach a certain concentration?
Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I wouldn't worry about dosing yet. Odds are that regular water changes will maintain your Alk and Calc where you need them for at least a few months. Well, unless you plan on buying a large number of corals quickly that is.
