I'm having a hard time finding the proper dosing for my tank I have used the brs usp for alk and calcium and have mixed them up to a gallon each I guess what I'm asking is what is the saturation of each component at 1ml so I know how many ml of liquid form is need to dose. all the calculators I have used tell how to much of each component in dry form to mix up and dose but what if its already mixed like I have done

Go take a second look.....the calculators I've used have a menu to pick dry or wet forms. I know BRS's calculator has this.

the alkalinity one does and if I'm doing it right with a total volume of 120 gallons and a dkh of 7.5 to raise to 8dkh if I'm reading it right it says to dose 42.8ml of alk is that right

I'm confused by USP.....for me, this stands for United States Pharmacopeia. BRS sells calcium chloride. That's what's confusing for me.

yes that's the one I have tried but for there calcium I'm using its not showing as a selectable option

Can you tell us exactly what you are dosing? There are different forms of dry calcium and alkalinity additives.

the brs single gallon mix soda ash and calcium chloride I have them mixed but have not started dosing because I'm confussed on how much to add to raise given values

Did you mix 2 1/2 cups BRS calcium chloride to one gallon of RO/DI water?

If so, that is the "standard" mix of calcium solution, and that's on the list.

The "standard" alkalinity solution is 2 cups soda ash to one gallon.

Hope this helps

Knowing how much dry powder you added to the gallon of water is essential for correctly calculating the strength of the solution. What product did you order from their website? Something like this? Did it say "Makes one gallon" on the packaging? If so, BRS's calculator will be correct.

yes that is the product yeah I see that now I didn't want to complicate things so figured single use packet would be the best will order the regular chemicals from now on

thank you for the help I under stand it now will not order single use packets from now on will measure my own I guess the whole usp chloride and it not being on there calculator threw me for a loop because seeing the word usp in my mind was thinking it was a higher quality and esentialy higher saturation content
