New to frags and SPS placing

Hey
I made frags of softies before but im kinda unsure how to proceed with this SPS. Never did before.
It should be a pocillopora.

It's in my tank for a couple months, minimal growth, low light, low flow, no surprise.

This frag plug is just wierd. Actually is not a plug, its a plate. I would like to cut it and make something like a stick.

1)Should I simply flip it and slice with a dremel?
2) I would end up with another 4 little frags. Would them grow back?

3) should I dip after the cutting? Our just rinsing is enough?

4) after placing should I leave for a couple days in a place with less light and flow? Or I can place right away in the new spot? It will be closer to the wavemaker and lights.

Or if you cant help me, plase rate my drawing in a scale from 1 to 10.

A lot of SPS corals need to base out like that before starting vertical growth. You would be going way backwards by fragging it off its base.

Agreed, if you want more growth sooner don’t touch it.

If its a green pocci it may "frag" itself all over your tank..lol. but yes..as others stated, fragging the base will set you back a good bit. Once it is encrusted and based out it will then start growing vertically. You could then cut the tip off which will also encourage branching as it heals back and grows.

It's not a pocillapora.
I agree with the others. Fraging, you will be going backwards. If you want it on a new plug, glue it to one is the easiest. Snapping off the vertical growth is another but again, going backwards.

I give your drawing a 7 out of 10 sea stars.

It's clear to me. I won't cut it.

But if I place in that position I mentioned.
This wavemaker is a 3000L/H or 790 gal /H. I'm always using in 35-40% of power. It's a mlw5
I would be too much flow?

Never put it in direct flow of a powerhead.
If it protected by the rock, go ahead. It's hard to see in that pic if the rock shades direct flow.

No, in that position its gonna get direct flow.

Maybe I can try in the other side in red. It's covered.
i started to think about swapping this frag. Lol
