Not drilled tank so I use an overflow box. When messing with fuge and stuff to keep from getting everything pumped up to dt. Do I just turn off my return pump? Or will I lose siphon or flood my floor if I turn return off?

You shouldn't lose siphon if you turn off return. You will get back siphon down your return line that you'll need to watch.

Turn the power off. watch the sump and if it looks like it's going to over flow turn power back on.

Another test you might want to do. pull the u tube out to make sure your DT does not overflow.

I would start off low and work up until I was comfortable that it wouldn't overflow. I know ghost overflow leaks a lot of water over time, but most of the overflow boxes don't drain a lot.
