New to hobby, looming to start.

Hey all, after years of wanting, I've finally decided to make the plunge! I've been looking for 75-100 gallon aquariums on Craigslist and found a brand new 150 gallon tank for $400. I'm probably dreaming big, but do you all think that is a bit overkill for a beginner? I know that bigger is always more $$$ and it will take longer to be able to buy all the parts necessary, but in the end I think it will be worth it.

Go as big as you can, always thought (should of went bigger when I bought my first tank)

bigger the tank easier to manage but expensive to get started i have 56g but started off with 10g and upgrade the tank like 6 times in 4 years so my next tank will be 125 or more if budget allow it

150g is a good tank. Bit costly to equip, but you'll love it when it set up, compared to a smaller one.

150 gallons will be very stable and easy to keep. However, if you're on a budget, I would go with a 90 or something around that size. If not, go with the 150. The reason I say this is because I had a 120, and doing a 15% water change weekly was very costly over time. Also, the equipment is more expensive and if you go with T5 lighting, the bulbs are expensive to replace yearly as well.

Go as big as you can afford. You will always want more. Its a addiction. lol

Bigger is better, just a little more pricey during the initial start up. The nice thing about a bigger tank is that your parameters are easier to maintain, and cannot go out of whack too quickly without you catching it. It also allows for more choices in regards to rockwork, livestock, etc. You'll enjoy the tank, I know it!
