Hello All,
I am new to the hobby and am working on a project tank. I bought a used 90 gallon tank setup that came with a 30 gallon sump. It has an overflow in the middle of the tank with 1.25" drain and 1.25" (internal diameter) return holes already drilled with bulkheads installed but little else.
Question: What size pump should I get for a 90 gallon.
I want to do a saltwater fish tank and might end up dabbling in some coral later on. I have read a lot about pumps and tank water turnover. I have read about people going from 5x an hour turnover to 20x an hour turnover.
What would the group recommend and why? I am looking for flow capacity and brand names for the pump.
The project tank and sump below:
90 Gallon acrylic with canopy etc - Going to be cleaning it up a bunch and sanding and buffing out the scratches.
30 gallon sump after about 8 hours soaking in vinegar and a lot of scrubbing.
