I’ve just bought a 2nd hand 70g with overflow that came with a Fluval FX4. The guy that sold it to me didn’t utilize the overflow, just the FX4. I have no idea how to utilize the FX4 with the overflow or if I even can/should. I’m used to a 32g Biocube. Any help is appreciated. I’ve attached pics of the overflow and my rock scape.

Looks great. Are you going to use a sump?
Thanks! I’m not sure about a sump. That FX4 is pretty amazing. I actually figured out how to hook it directly to the overflow box, but then couldn’t remove the cap on the output/drain pipe. Unless someone with a stronger grip happens to stop over, looks like that might just end up as wasted space which is annoying. Suggestions?

I don’t think I can get a wrench into that area unfortunately. Someone suggested Lock-Tite might’ve been used to secure the cap. Im still thinking there has to be a way to get that darned cap off.
