Hello everyone. I just found this site and have really been enjoying reading all the posts. Tons of great information. I recently acquired a 90 gal corner bow front from a family member. It has been set up for over 10 years but a move on their part had the aquarium land with me. I’m not totally new to saltwater but it’s been over 20 years since I have owned one. Currently, it’s loaded with live rock with a few fish and a couple soft corals. The tank is set up with a sump that currently only has a sock and return pump. The protein skimmer broke during the move and a new one is due in today. The lighting is a 24 in Odyssea with unknown bulbs. Our goal is to add some other “beginner” corals and form what I believe is called a reef tank. Any insight is definitely appreciated. Thanks for allowing me to join in.

Welcome to R2R!

I have a 135 gal acrylic corner bowfront. I am unfortunately going to be breaking it down in the next couple of weeks. I have 2 gen 2 radions for lighting... I run Skimz skimmer.... and all I have been doing with it lately is feeding and topping off with RODI.

Where are you located?

Welcome to R2R!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. I’m in Lutz, Florida....just North of Tampa.

You’re in luck. It seems like every time I look for tanks/equipment everyone is located in Florida. You guys are close to the ocean and have reef tanks and the land-locked folks around me are slow to get into the hobby apparently

Where are you guys purchasing your RODI or do mot folks just set up a system at home. I’m guessing plain DI water is not going to get it done.

You can purchase RO water from most local fish stores (LFS) or you can buy your own RODI system. I bought mine a few years ago from Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) and have been very happy with it.

Welcome to the forum and back to the Hobby.

First step - since you have dived in full strength - get your water parameters in check.
Ensure you are in the acceptable range for the big 3 and the salinity - so that you dont loose anything off the bat.

Second step - share pics : )
