Just thought I would share with you guys that I have finally graduated from the pains of a skimmerless system. I hope this is a step in the right direction. I got a great deal on a Aqua C Remora (thanks Bryan). It took me a while to figure out how to fit the Rio 1700 pump in my tank, but finally decided to make a DIY hanger for it and used flex nylon tube to connect to intake. Next on the list is add some phosphate media to my filter and bump up the clean up crew to hopefully rid myself of this blasted GHA. Then I'm gonna be in the market for frags! Can't wait. Ofcourse pics, I know they are bad, I will probably switch sides with the skimmer and filter to put the pump and intake in the corners but you get the idea.

glad to hear you got a skimmer. I might now have a good one, but it works and helped me a ton on my tank.

Looking good sleeper! I believe the powerhead is a koralia.

It is a koralia 1 and I love it. I also have a maxi-jet 600 (moded) behind the rock work. Thanks for the kind words guys!

i just was wondering the model. just a one. ok. is the modded maxi-jet really powerful? eco mod right? I am thinking about doing it on my 600 for my 29 gallon. is it very overpowering in the 55 gallon? how is your rock work from the side to get an idea of what it's doing?

eco on a 600 will be pretty high flow in a 29, at 5dc we have a modded 400 i think in the solana, and it seems to be a pretty good fit.

I got a good bit of rock. I have a bunch of dead spots because of it. I really need to get some more flow in it. the ecomod on the 600 would in the back blowing across the back to try to get some more flow during the day. at night I was gonna have one of the powerheads shut off for calmer water.

The eco moded 600 is pretty powerful. I have all my rockwork down the center of the tank and the mj600 is behind the big rock with the AOG's and aussie's on it. It creates alot of flow and is angled towards the surface at about 30 degress from level so it doesn't blow the sand all around. I agree with alex, too much for a 29. and if you have the money I would go with multiple smaller korelia's. They are much easier to aim at deadspots and such.
