New to plumbing

Got the life Reef skimmer and fuge and sump. Both jeff and I thought the return pipes were 1 inch. After getting the tank and everything in place discovered the 2 pipes for the marineland corner flow are 1 and 1/4 inch. So instead of going out and buying new hose I used what I had. I'm aware I should of used unions and missing a few clamps but got the clamps on order.

The bulkhead fittings in the bottom of the tank are not designed to function as Male Pipe Threads or MPT. instead the inside of the bulkheads has a Female Pipe Threads or FPT connection or a smooth slip fitting for PVC. I have never seen a secure seal using the outside threads of a bulkhead. these are only designed for the bulkhead nut. I would re plumb using the inside fitting of the bulkheads.
