Nice thanks man! Im contemplating colours or maybe like painting a mixture type thing [emoji13] also a filter for the qt tank it came with a whisper 2-10i, do you guys think that will be good?! Its got a filter with activated carbon and its got a sponge filter in front of that

Do you need to build up a good bacteria culture in your qt tank as well? Im just a little confused on the qt tank differing from the dt, like in the qt how do you keep it cycled if you have no biological filtration?!

I had a pump meant for a nano in my QT with one fish and a tad bit of media inside of it. No sand or rock. Not very frequent water changes maybe weekly. I had that fish alive for 20 days so far. I just bought a 50 gallon filter and stocked it with media (no carbon). Honestly I don't know about the bio load either. But I bought a seachem ammonia alert thing on eBay. That will be here in a week or two. That is probably the best thing. If ammonia is high can just water change it out.

as in set it up before you do what? set up the QT? For sure I vote for the main tank (a.k.a. DT or display tank). You have to cycle it, which will take a long time - you can do all your other stuff while you wait for it to cycle.

Yes im just waiting on replys from jobs but I kinda wanna setup my qt so its always running I want it to be cycled as well I think I got it figured out how im gonna do that now, but my friend was telling me not to run a qt cuz he says he never does lol but I definitely want one!

From everything iv seen it seems like the smartest route! Like props for them on being lucky and ick is like the minor thing that can go wrong they have uv's on their tanks to take care of that but like what happens when something serious gets accidentally brought in! Im new as well so I dont know about all the sicknesses yet and a qt will give me the time to properly watch for things
