New to R2R, and the hobby

How's it going everyone, I recently got interested in fish keeping so I'm currently doing a lot of reading. I'll be looking to buy some used equipment in the near future from one of the local clubs. The size I'm looking to start with is 50-100 gallons since I may be moving in about a year to a temp location. It's definitely going to be a challenge since I travel quite a bit.

Welcome to R2R. That's difficult with travel and a move within the next year. I'd suggest using the next year to plan and purchase equipment and hold off setting it up until you move. Setting up a 50 - 100 gallon tank just to move it within a year is just not something I'd want to do. So hold off and read, learn, ask questions and accumulate equipment. Moving a saltwater tank is not a pleasant experience.

Yeah I've been looking into automated solutions for feeding, lighting, and testing, as well as controllers that provide access via the web. Luckily for now I'm usually gone for about only 2 days a couple times a month and not taking week long+ trips. The big thing I've learned so far is how important QT is, and is definitely a priority to get this setup before adding any livestock.
