Happy Holidays all! I started with my first and only (wife has me on the chain) reef tank just about two years ago. Would love to upgrade and someday hopefully will! Joined R2R just about a month ago...and read all the time trying to learn what I can as often as I can. Currently have a JBJ Nano CF 28G.

I have a "Dragon Soul" Favia and over the past month the growth looks very odd (see close up).

My water quality is ! Anybody have any thoughts, and thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome to Reef2Reef from the east side of the state! I really like your nano!

Welcome fellow Charlotte Reefer. I love your nano. I am not sure about your favia, but it doesn't look dead or dieing by any means.

Thank you for your kind comments. I definately believe the favia is not dying... but it's not happy either. At night this thing looks like Don King with the tremendous level and extension of tentacles. The areas where the polyps are stressed have no tentacle extension at all. As I mentioned in my first post would love to upgrade to at least a 90 or 120. Have been fraging and selling... trying to start the process of saving up for the "new one"

Welcome aboard. I don't know what the issue is with the Favia, but I'd keep an eye on it. Does it appear to be a film on the coral, or does it appear to be bleaching? Can you get a little more flow around it?

It is most definately bleached and the tissue is translucent in the effected areas (no film). With respect to flow it receives a moderate amount to the extent that the polyps bob and weave slightly. It's been in the same position in the tank for about a year. Started out as a two polyp frag and has grown nicely
