New to the hobby. My husband and I have done saltwater fish in the past, the dream has always been a reef system. We lucked out getting our tank set up gifted to us. We have a 65G red sea max 250 C that has been running for 5 weeks. We changed our lighting from the T5 hood to two, AI prime 16 led lights. The setup is doing amazing and we now have 12 beginner corals that we added over the last 3 weeks. We started with 3 soft corals, GSP, zoathids, and pulsing zinnia. Our next purchase was a lava lamp mushroom and a large colony of 4 types of soft corals from our local store. The colony had 3 types of clove polyps and 3 hairy mushrooms. After 2 weeks in our tank on the sand bed, we separated the colony into 3 pieces and placed them throughout our aquascape. This week we added a hammer coral, a blasto and a paly/zoa frag.
Fish are next, due to our tank size we need to choose wisely. Any suggestions?
So much learned, but I have just scratched the surface ! Looking forward to where this adventure takes us!
We want to participate in today's summer sale, any suggested must haves?
Excited to be here!
Happy Sunday Funday!

Welcome.
My wife loves your octo tat! She has both arms sleeved and is an artist.

She designed this when she was in welding school. They made it into tshirts.

Welcome 2 the reef :)

Trust your instincts and read up on everything your gut tells you before you buy. Lock your wallet in a box, give the key to someone who cares about you, and could care less about the hobby :)
Your tank looks great, I love the rock!

Welcome aboard, tank looks nice, cool scape design.
Thank you! The white and red coral my husband has had for over 30 years. They are place holders until we are ready to fill the space. Adds interest in the mean time!
