Hi All!

We are a family of 3 from San Diego, CA. We have been following Reef 2 Reef for a while and decided to join up. We been long time aquarium keepers, just over 16 years with fresh water, and started with salt water 2 years ago. It has been a great family hobby for us and we enjoy learn and making discoveries about our tank, it's personality and reefkeeping. We love the ocean and we are amazed everyday by the little slices we've created in our living room.

Our set up:

Display - 30 gallon long mixed reef, Aquaclear HOB filter, DIY HOB refugium (made for larger breeder box), 1 Hydro Koralia power head, custom built hood with 2 VHO T5s (10,000K and actinic) 8AM-8PM 2 36 PCs (10,000K and 50/50) 10AM-3 or 4PM, 2 3 foot strips of RGB LEDs that we currently have programmed for our moonlight cylce (8PM- 9 or 10PM).

Livestock, our daughter has named them all: 1 Mandarin Dragonette (Alice), 1 Scooter Dragonette (Pumpkin), 1 Percula Clown fish (Oreo), 1 Blue/Green Chormis (Moe), 2 Pom Pom Crabs (Sam & Rocky), 1 Pederson Shrimp (Dot), 2 Tiger Conchs (Clark and Krypto), 1 Black Brittle Star (The Kraken), 1 Red Bali Star (Rosie), a herd of hermit crabs and snails.

Pico - 4 Gallon mixed reef- Finnex HOB filter, in display refugium, custom built hood with 1 13 watt PC (50/50) 2 ecoexotics LED strips (1-10,000 K 1-10,000K & Blue).

Livestock: 1 Blue Striped Pipe fish (Nibbler), 1 Yellow Clown Goby (Cuddles), 1 Porcelain Crab (Al), 1 Pedersons Shrimp (Spot), 1 Pom Pom Crab (Lefty) and a clean up crew.

I put up albums in my profile I hope this link works:

I grew up around my fathers tank in the 80's, pre-internet. it's easily the best teaching tool there is for kids! I remember watching dad struggle with it and learning from mistakes as he went along. I remember being like 13 and being amazed that anything in the ocean survived due to the fragility of the ecosystem. It effected me profoundly. Congrats on what you're doing!!! The benefit are far reaching in the extreme. Welcome to R2R!!
