Hey All,
I am new to R2R and will be asking a lot of questions.
I have a 120g reef with a 30g sump. AMD G3 skimmer, LED reef capable lights, live sand and rock 2 wave maker circulation pumps. Current live stock 1 yellow tang, 1 blue hippo tang, 2 green chromies, 2 false percula, 2 Clarki, 1 yellow watchman gobie, 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, 1 rose bubble anemone, 1 other anemone not sure what it is. snails crabs and a brittle star. 1 ricordia, 1 hammer coral, 1 candy cane, and one sps that I am not sure what it is.
I am having a little issue with the temp in the tank and have a small fan in the sump area, opened the top and have the ceiling fan on over the tank.
Any ideas for regulating the temp in Arizona? The fan does not seem to be doing the job and it seems like I am having a lot of evaporation.
I moved the tank to Arizona from Illinois. I added 1-2 inches of sand to my existing sand bed when I got here, so sand is approx. 3 inches. Is there anything that you can have in the tank to clean the sand? It is looking a little funky by the glass. I have some nassarius snails that dug in as soon as I put them in but don't seem to be doing much. Do they release anything into the water when they dig?
I currently have all the fish in a quarantine tank, I thought my dori had velvet. So I am treating them all and letting the tank cycle through that. All seem to be doing well and only have one more week to go before they get to go back to their home.
