I'm brian and I was wanting to get back into reef. I've had mostly fish only tanks for many years. I just decided to get back in saltwater a little over a year ago so I purchased a nice used 180. I couldn't afford live rock so I did about 200 lbs of Diy rock for under $100 and turned out great. I have the following fish unicorn tang, blue tang, coral beauty, Niger trigger, 3 green chromis, domino damsel, large Clarki clown, anda firefish. I am gradually going to start buying things to get into reef just not sure what all is needed. I posted a thread in a forum asking for help because I want to be able to run a successful reef tank for once. I dabbled in it a while back but only with easy things like mushrooms. As I said on the other forum I won't be able to afford super high dollar things so need any suggestions on budget items that will work great. Thanks and can't wait to get back into reefing

Welcome to R2R!! Keep an eye on the dry goods selling forum you can find some good deals there usually. Also try finding a local reef club, you can usually find deals there as well. Best of luck

I like the full spectrum myself. I am running Orphec leds full spectrum.

*Welcome to Reef2Reef,Brian!* Definitely go with full spectrum lighting.I would try to find people in your area who are in the hobby.Almost every experienced reefer has something in their tank that grows vigorously and needs trimmed back.Usually it's a good way to find inexpensive easy to grow corals like zoas and sacros.
