Hi new to R2R and to the saltwater hobby. I have had freshwater for years. But I was wondering if 82F on my 10-gallon reef is to high? Should I bring down to 78F?

Hello and welcome to reef2reef !

I question the accuracy of that thermometer do you have another one that you can test with to validate that temperature ?

Welcome, now you have open the vast world of information:) I run mine at 78.5. you will have other suggest different but I do agree with @rayn that 82 is a little high

Welcome. :-)

You can buy clip on fans that will reduce the temp of the tank.

You can add a screen type lid for the tank as well. The screens can be purchased at most on line hobby sites such as Marine Depot or Bulk Reef Supply.

Keeping the ambient temp of the room environment at 78 f can be of assistance as well.

Welcome to you.nice little start you have.yea it's a bit high I shoot for 79 in my system.maybe you could remove one of the glass tops.that may allow more air exchange and maybe lower your temp some.good luck in your tank.
