Hello All
My name is Kurt and although I signed up in May for R2R I never got around to introducing myself.
I am a Career Firefighter, husband and father. I have 2 great kids and a wonderful wife.
I started in saltwater in 2011 when we built our new house. We decided that a salt water tank in the living room was better than a tv or entertainment center. So I started with a 75gal reef ready and started out with FOWLR. Then lost the whole tank when Hurricane Irene came through Connecticut.
I keep it up and fallow for awhile but ultimately tore it down and put it in storage.
Well last year for mothers day(2018), my wife asked me to start it back up after visiting a local coral gallery.(Yes that is what it is called. It is an art gallery with corals on display here in CT) So now I have a75 gal mixed reef with ok success. I have lost some fish to either velvet or Brook. I have attempted to grow corals and have had some success as well. And currently have 11 fish and mainly softies with a few LPS.
I am still learning everyday and am on here reading and learning.
So what brought me to R2R? Well I went to a local show Keep on Reefing Expo. R2R was a sponsor and was giving away a Red Sea Reefer 170. And I won! So my next post will be my build thread for that tank. It has been wet for 2 months now and is nicely stocked so I waited until then to post.
So I just wanted to say hello to you all and offer up a big thank to everyone here and R2R for the awesome tank!!! (Sorry it took me 2 months)
KEEP ON REEFING!!
