Hello group. Let me introduce myself
My name is troy and live in swfl and have a jbj 75 gallon tank. The tank has been acclimated and so far I have 2 clown, yellow watchman goby, and another and honestly forgot the name. Also have a hammer coral and a zoa. Have live rock with rock (not sand). I’m using a single maxspect gyre xf330 Powerhead, heater, two aiprime hd lights
I’m wanting to really start building the tank to a reef tank and want to get down to what really is needed to do so. I don’t have a skimmer as of right now and seeing what would be a good Recommendation for one for me. Also I’m looking to what I need versus to what I want. I don’t want to buy a bunch of overkill stuff if I don’t need it. Sorry for being all over the place with my wording thank you for any feedback.

Welcome to R2R!!

Welcome from the "smoky" left coast. Great to have you.

As for a skimmer, I chose a DC unit for the control it gives. They can get very expensive but I found the Coral Box to be competitive. Here's an example from a seller:
