Hey guys as the title says, I am new to reef ready tanks, looking for some pointers as to how you plumb the tank to the sump. Internal overflow box center back of tank
Currently have a 200 gallon partial cube
48x40x24 total dimensions
60 sump on the way

Well depends on your setup. Also reef ready should have holes already unless you drill the tank yourself

Yeah it has the holes already, just curious as to what sort of pipes and connections people use. Currently all I have are my return heads connection from the bottom of the over flow to the top lol.

Do you have a pic it is always helpful. Normally there is a 1in and a 3/4 hole you need bulkheads and pvc pipe

Not currently at home at work. Still awaiting on sump. It was supposed to arrive with the tank Wednesday, but miss communication between LFS and Visio. But will post pictures of the holes in overflow asap

So pictures are helpful, but really it's hard to help without knowing how the sump will be set up. If you'll have filter socks then you just need pvc pipe to take the display water to the filter socks. So that's pvc and elbows and pvc glue for that part. You just measure, cut and place. Dry fit everything before gluing. Then you'll need a return pump and some more pvc to bring the water back up to the display. It's pretty simple. It can get really complicated if your plumbing in more tanks or manifolds to feed all kinds of reactors and stuff. For now though, that's all you need. Remember, the more bends in the pipe the slower your water will move through them. Just a thought. Good luck!

Okay cool. Thank you for the advice @melypr1985

Any time! When you get the sump in and the plumbing done but not glued, you can always post pictures just to be sure you got it right. I'm sure you'll have no problems, but it always helps to have some peace of mind about it.
