New to reefing 12/29/20

My name is Hendrix this will be my 1st go at a reef. I have had a lot of fresh water tanks anywhere from 10-240g I breed shrimp for a few years and now I plan on building a 180g with 75g sump. I got the sump petco is have their sale now for the 180g I have been looking online for used at a good price but they are 200+ miles away so as of now I will be DIY on the tank. Does anyone know if 1/4 inch glass will work if I full brace the top?
