Hi I am not new to aquariums, but am new to reefing.
If you don't want to read my story here skip to the now my tank part
I previously had a 55 gallon tank for about a year and a half with
2 Blacker ice clowns, an orchid dottyback, a golden midas blenny, a flame angel, a tomini tang, a yellow watchman goby, and a sandsifting starfish.
I recently moved from Nyc to Miami Beach, Florida to go to college.
I didn't want to leave my fishy babies behind, so when I got here I got myself a 120 Gallon with dual overflows, filled it and cycled it then had my fishies shipped down to me. luckily they all made the trip fine but tragically a few weeks later we got hit with a really bad storm (not mathew) and I was away for the night celebrating my birthday with friends and family, when I returned the next morningMy neighbors told us that we lost power and as I ran into my house I saw all my baby's stuck to the pump dead. the only survivors were the goby and starfish.
It was the most soul crushing thing I've ever experienced and after scooping them out and crying for days, I started over.
now my tank is once again ready for fish and I'll be picking up my first new baby's tomorrow. but also found out about this wwc coral live sale and went a little crazy.
I've been prepared to add corals for a while now, have all the dosing stuff and test kits and right water parameters.
I've tank sat for people with corals before but haven't yet had my own. I've been studying them since I started in the aquarium hobby, with full intentions to get some when I was ready. In the sale I got
WWC Stardust Favites,
Whamn Watermelon Zoanthids,
WWC Rising Sun Zoanthids,
Cherry Red Bowerbanki,
Gold Micromussa Lord,
Mycedium Chalice,
WWC Rainbow Platygyra,
Orange Yuma,
WWC Halle Berries Zoanthids,
Green Birdsnest,
and a 4 Coral Frag Pack
I know this is not only a lot of corals but some aren't exactly beginner material but I really don't want your standard xenias and mushrooms. I want a little bit of a challenge with a lot of color. anyone that has experience or advice please share <3 I'd like some advice on any particular coral I have listed
or in general.
no hate please, If I can't take care of anything properly I'll give it to someone rather than killing it.
