New to reefing and need help with this algae please!

Hello everybody!
My tank is 2 1/2 months old and I've seen hair algae and film algae come and go but this stuff.
I'm pretty sure it's diatom but it appeared almost all at once on my rock then spread to the sand as well. It's only in areas that get direct light. As I am colorblind and can't tell my wife says it's green. It does not come off and my cleanup crew can't seem to stop it. I stirred the sand manually but it just mixed in.
Should I be alarmed more than I am?
Remedies?
Levels are all right on target.

I do not have a phosphate test kit. But I am going to get one.
Salinity: 1.022
PH: 8.0
NH3/NH4: ~0.0
NO3: ~0.0
NO2: ~0.0
Temp: 79°
It's a 32 gallon LED Biocube, so the lights are stock for that model.
I am running a protein skimmer.

Salinity needs to be up some. 1.025 to 1.026 is a good place
Finding out the phosphate would be a good thing.
You have a newer system and you are also in the ugly stages of the cycling.
