New to Reefing: Considering TRITON Method

For LPS and softies triton is likely going to cause you to wrestle with too high flow.

Also for what it’s worth, I have a reefer 525 (roughly 120g). It’s five feet long and just short of two feet wide and tall. My return pump is in the basement and across the house, and I’m only getting about 310 gph from it. I have a gyre xf250, my only power head, and on its own, it’s almost two powerful for certain LPS. I have it set to mostly run at 10 and 20% power with short peaks at 30%, and that’s about all my corals on the opposite end of the tank can handle. The gyre effect prevents most (maybe all) total dead spots, but some areas are lower flow. Width wise, it hits the return nozzle and the front glass, so total coverage.

TLDR: you could get away with one gyre xf250 and probably even just one of the next size down, or even one of the icecap module, if you wanted.
