I'm going to call this:
"SEXY NEW MEMBER OF THE MONTH"

Im gonna jump start one member every month with a nice Sexy frag pack. This is going to get you guys that are beginning the hobby a little incentive to sign up here. You can ask around for some advice and at the same time get a nice sexy frag pack for your new tank.

I will try to give away a pack a month. These are the rules.

  1. if you are not a member to r2r, register and become a member.
  2. Tell us a little about yourself and why you decided to get started in to this hobby
  3. tell us about your setup
  4. A simple pic of your new setup.
About every month or so I will compile a list of names which qualifies and do a live drawing on video for you guys. I don't know what I'm going to do yet but I might have one winner and some months I may have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

I hope a lot of you participate and I hope to get a lot of you guys that are thinking about getting into reefing to persuade you to finally do it. This is a great hobby and I also understand that it gets kind of expensive that's why I'm trying to do all I can to help this hobby grow. Hopefully this will help. Here are some pictures of some of the things that I might be throwing into the pack.

This just came to Annette and I this morning. All you veterans on here don't think we forgot about you! We are thinking about a contest for you guys too. With the holiday seasons coming up, we are always in the giving mood so be on the look out for something like this for you guys... We are always open for ideas from you guys on here. Either to improve this contest or any other suggestions for the near future that'll get you guys excited.

I love those 3 words! "Free Sexy Corals" :xd:
Hey Mike, does it count if I get my wife to signup?!

That's awesome of you mike. And a bomb diggity of a frag pack bro.
You always take care of us on R2R.

Ok well here it goes..... Hope I'm posting this in the right place and thank you for such a great chance for all of us new folks to get our tanks going in the right direction! For those of you just lurking out there that aren't members of R2R sign up, this is an awesome place and what a great contest on top of it!

A little about me - Met my husband at 15, married him and 16 and we've been together ever since. The hubby is on here from time to time as well but not as often as I. We have two grown wonderful daughters and two beautiful grandchildren who enjoy our new saltwater experience as much I think as we do. :) I've spent more years than I care to mention running towards things that most people run away from, I've since retired from that ( knees and ankles are too damaged to do the job anymore and the crooks seem to be running faster. lol ) and now spend my time on the other side of the radio as a 911 communications director.

My life is a stressful one and our reef tank is my relaxation. Always had wanted to get into saltwater but between the job and raising a family is just wasn't something that I had time for. We've had FW tanks but never salt and vowed once the kids were grown and out of the house that we would try our hand at a reef tank. We married our youngest off last year and we took the jump....boy did we jump in, straight into a 125rr and it's been a work in progress since May.

Our 125 is equipped with a Skimz SM201 skimmer, ATB flow star 1500 (askol/laguana 1500) return pump and we're currently running a 72" Reefbrite all blue with a 48" coralife lunar fixture with two 10k 54 watt white t5 high output bulbs and two 54 watt actinic t5 high outputs. Other bulbs are junk at the moment. Planning on adding another set of blue t5's the length of the tank. Then a set of white , something like the ati aquablue special 12k bulb. Then something like a super actinic or a purple plus bulb as was suggested to us to bring our tank up to where it needs to be lighting wise.

Here it is in all of it's bare glory - 5 months old! We have added a couple zoos and such but shes still pretty vacant looking. Sorry my camera skills stink. :squigglemouth:

Rules? Rules? Thats no fun. LOL

First off, Thansk for the little raffle. Always a great thing to help keep us slackers motivated.

I'm kinda new, and been back in the SW world for about six months. We had a tank when I was growing up (125gal), and it was always something to look forward to with my father on the weekends was to go to the LFS. Now that my daughter is almost 4, we decided to start a small 55 gal. I soon became afflicted with MTS, and have a bunch of tanks now, but only 2 running. A small 10 gal fresh, and a 55 gal sw. Had my share of experiences and failures along the way, but I now have a healthy tank, and actually just got my first frags a couple weeks ago.

Here's a picture of my current setup.

I have more rock curing in a 30 gal now that will be added. (guess that means I have 3 tanks, forgot about my 30 gal QT tank.) Gotta rescape my tank to give the corals different heights to see where they're happy.

WHOA, after seeing LittleDabOSalt's tank, I'm ashamed to post a picture of mine. Beautiful tank. I've got a long way to go on mine.
