hello everyone,
I'm looking into starting my very own reef tank. It is not going to be a reef only system there will be fish added to this setup as well. I'm looking to find information on how to take care of corals and what corals are good for beginners like myself. Also since this is a system that will house fish I'm looking for fish that are reef safe. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Welcome to R2R!!
If you go on Liveaquaria.com and click on marine fish they have a section of fish for beginners. They also give descriptions of what each fish eats, etc.
They also have a chart showing compatibility.
Same info for corals.
Best of luck with your tank!!
Keep us informed!! And ask all the questions you like!!

Welcome. :-)

Study up on the role of nutrients and the effect that it has in an enclosed reef ecosystem good and bad. Understand the role of beneficial bacteria and the different modes of nutrient export. Always remember that patience and stability is KEY. Check out Marine Depot on YouTube. Also many great articles and threads right here. Check out Randy's Chemistry Forum too.

Thank you everyone for your advice and where I can find all the info. I'll keep everyone posted on the tank and my setup. I have the water cycling now and my fish are being ordered tomorrow.
