Hello everyone,

I've been following this forum for a while now but I just finally joined so I can post. I have a 110 gallon tall that I just converted to reef from fish only. I have 4 t5 ho and one true lumen blue strip for night time viewing. I was interested in missed reef but not sure how my lights are gonna handle on a 30" deep tank. I have a DSB and rocks coming up to about 10" from the lights. Now I have added some frags to see what does best in what areas and I plan to get a golden hammer as my show piece up at the top closest to the light.

Any advice on lighting is appreciated. (On a budget)

I just purchased two true lumen strips (12000k) that I will be adding to my api lights. (Antinic, 2blue plus, coral plus)

Thanks.

If your running a DSB, then your actual top to sand bed is what? 24" then? Those T5s will be fine.

Kinda, but if your running it relatively close you wouldn't have that issue. If you had them above 12" then yea, I'd say you would need more, most overkill it anyways, which isn't a bad thing, but it scares the deeper tank people.
Like most LEDs on the market, are more than capable of handling a 30" deep bare bottom tank, heck most burn the stuff in a 24" tank at the bottom at 100%.
