New to reefing

I bought a galaxea frag from LFS today. I put it in QT and notice this coming out of top. Is this part of coral and a hitchhiker? Thank for any help.

Not part of the coral. Looks like it may be a feather duster or a colonial hydro from the photo. Can you get a closer pic of just it?

It's a new setup 40 breeder. 40lbs base rock 40lbs live sand. 2 powerheads 750 and 350. AI prime HD lights. Been out of cycle for three weeks. Added two chromis 2 weeks ago and two clowns last week. Just starting out
