New to reefing

How everyone doing let me start by saying sorry if I put this in the wrong place I'm horrible with forums. I started with with a 20 gallon tall and narrow tank back in Feb and now I have a 37 tall and long. I'm running a canister filter and Inine heater.
I have 2 reg clowns a long nose hawk a royal gramma and skunk shrimp I had a tile star fish but it died today. Any suggestions on fish to add and what I can do about the the brown stuff i have growing in the tank I'm not sure if it's diatom or detritus or something els entirely. Any and all help is appreciated THANK YOU!

it looks like you took a head dive!!
patients is key, the longer you wait on adding things, the more your tank will mature and you will notice less of the brown stuff and algea growing in the tank. Good luck!!
