Hey peeps

I recently went from fresh to salt. Setup has been about 2months now. What coral would you guys recommend for a mixed reef tank, I have a 40g setup with hydra 52 hd led, Nyos protein skimmer 120, ehiem heater 250w, ehiem return pump, gyre pump. Also have a refugium with live rocks.

My current stocking

2 clownfish
2 Dartfish purple and red
1 cleaner shrimp
4 trochus snail
2 peppermint shrimp that lives in sump

Frogspawn
Hammer
Torch
Duncan
Mushroom
Toadstool

My phosphate has been sitting around 2ppm but after a 50% water change it dropped to 1ppm, do you guys think another water change will be good?

Any tips or trick will be appreciated [emoji16]

I can't comment on which corals you should get, because this varies with your personal preferences and how much work you want to put into stability. I can say that phosphates around 1 ppm is a bit high, but it doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. While most reef tanks probably run with 100 ppb or less, some run at that level or higher with no ill effects. If you are not seeing any problems with the health of your animals or nuisance algae, I probably wouldn't worry about it for the moment.

Yeah there isnt much effects from it but it is dropping slowly, everything else is pretty good.

Temp 78f
Salinity 1.025-1.026
Calcium 450
Alk 10
Ammo 0
Nitrite 0
Nirate 2ppm

Everything has been really stable. All my LPS corals are opening up during the day.

Would really love to have SPS corals but I know I'll have to be dosing the tank for that.

I started with mushrooms and polyps and they are still alive in my system after 3.5 years

here is a picture today

The mushroom pretty much stay in one area.

Very nice tank, can't wait for mine to look like that.

Is it possible to put different mushrooms together?
yes, I have three different types in the cluster up front and over to the right are my blue yama's

I had a lot of detritus behind the rocks and under so I decide to remove some bigger rocks in the tank for a better flow. Could anything else help? Or should I just get another wave maker for the bottom section of the tank?

I decided to rockscape it again and gone with the simple looking, the flow is so much better now that detritus lands on the left side only.
