Hello im new to the saltwater tank community I have a question about stocking my 30 gallon reef tank I've had it for almost a month now its fully cycled with a couple of coral and 2 ocellaris clownfish and a scarlet skunk shrimp in there as well, I've done my own research but im gonna throw some pitches at yall and would like a yay or nay or general ideas if yall have recommendations

I've heard weird things about a coral beauty angel in a 30 gallon ik they don't get that big but maybe??? yay or nay?
also was thinking about getting a six line wrasse down the line but towards the last thing cause I heard they could be jerks
I was thinking about getting either a dragonate or a diamond watchman goby a few months down the line just waiting for my tank to be more established first.
thank yall for any help!

Welcome :) :) !! To answer your questions, I personally would not put a coral beauty or six line in a 30 gallon for the reasons you mentioned. I would also (IMO) avoid a mandarin due the majority of them requiring a ton of live foods.

My only experience with the fish listed, is a 6 line wrasse. Even though the 6 line was aggressive, they are good fish in a larger system so they do not become to aggressive toward the other fish in a system.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

I would not put a coral beauty is a 30 gallon. A six line may be ok but it depends on its personality. Some are more aggressive then others

Agree with above statements on coral beauty and six line. Watchman Goby should be fine, but I'd wait another month or two. There's some other wrasse that will work in a 30g. Check out pink streaked wrasse or possum wrasse.

Welcome to the hobby! I'm sure it will bring many years of enjoyment (and a few moments of frustrated worrying). I think you're doing the right thing: you're planning and you're asking questions. Most of my problems have come because I've leaped before I've looked. Who hasn't fallen in love with some fish and then been disappointed when things don't work out because they were a bad fit?

I'd recommend keeping the livestock load low: you'll find the tank is easier to maintain and the guests will be happier.
