Hello!!

Super excited to dive deeper into the salt water aquarium world! I have always wanted a salt aquarium but never the right time, I have worked in a lot of large retail pet stores as a DT. An it wasn't till now with working with these knowledgeable long term salt water and reef tank owners ( as well as learning how to read a refractor and understand the sump, what to look for as far as illness did I decide to go for it! Sadly my husband and i don't get out a lot but we love love the water. He decided to buy a motorcycle and I said awesome were getting a aquarium! He agreed!! Looking to purchase a established system... need to know the pluses and minus, what to look out for, how to transfer... thank you for welcoming me to your board... an I hope as I learn I can help new comers as you have helped me!!!

Since this one tank I kinda have my heart set on has is including live fish and coral.. best way to transport and hold while tank is reassembled? Will I need to re cycle if using same substrate and live rock but adding new salt and water?

Most of the bacteria is in the rock and sand so the tank will likely only go through a mini cycle (assuming there is no major die off of bacteria). The downside to getting an established tank is that you are also getting their established problems - it is doable, but I would suggest that you tread carefully. Good luck with whatever you decide!
