Hello,

I'm new to saltwater aquariums. Had freshwater many years ago. Always wanted saltwater but never got around to it until now. Bought an Aquatop Recife Eco 40 gal. Set it up two weeks ago with live sand, Caribsea Life Rock and premixed RODI saltwater. Water tests with Red Sea kits all in parameters for mixed reef. Put in two clowns yesterday. Seem good so far. Haven't started skimmer yet. Told I could wait a couple weeks after putting the fish in after the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate cycle. Would like to add some invertebrates in a couple weeks but that might be too soon.

Any comments on my process so far?

Thanks.

Welcome to R2R!

Yes, skimmer can wait, but you can always start 'breaking it in' since you say it's been 2 weeks. Clean up crew can also wait -it depends on your parameters and how much you feed. Did you use any beneficial bacteria product, like Dr Tims? Do your parameters read 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites?

Again, welcome!
