Just finished draining the water and putting the fish into a bucket with heater and air stone until tomorrow morning. Going to do a good cleaning and use 92% pure alcohol to wipe everything down. It's the quick evaporate first aid alcohol that i use for my guinea pigs cage and geckos cage.
Over alcohol, use vinegar or bleach
Just wondering wouldn't bleach sink into porous items as well? Bleach will stay in or on something for a long time as well as leach out as a poison if mishandled. The alcohol will evaporate quickly within 1 to 2 hours fully and leaves no traces. As long as it has air flow to dry properly. How do you use bleach to clean aquarium items?

Bleach gives me sinus infections so I always used to avoid it. The smell is rancid lol. So do you have any advice against putting used live rock in my tank against starting with dry rock? I heard used live rock from LFS or from others could bring parasites, strains of algae, or even shrimp/snails.
You can place live rock in a container/tub and observe over 72 hours for anything that has emerged or come out of hiding and before introduction place in freshwater which will drive most hiders out
High salinity will drive out lots of crabs and worms without killing them. Like 1.04. Put the rock in and turn it over a few times to get the salty water in everywhere then let it set with an airstone. Hope it helps. Most creatures on the rock will help your tank.
It's more to control the flow than to increase it. Adding even a small wave pump of some kind will improve water quality and allow you to create flow patterns. I know the stuff adds up. It takes me months to get water moving everytime I build one. Filtration and lighting first. The other gadgets can come later.
Thank you guys for all the sweet info. I have now around like 30 pounds of dry rock. I have a uv sterilizer. I'll hold off on the wave maker for now. And RO water at my LFS is only $20 for 40 gallons. So I'll be good to start setting up and cycling tomorrow.
You can literally get a decent Aquatic Life Rodi for $140 on Amazon.
They are selling ro water for $0.50 gallon and premix for $1.25 gallon. I got the salt myself for super cheap just going to mix it. I seen a $69 rodi system that makes 50gal in 24hours. Seems legit I will try a rodi system later on when I have more cash. Also buying a new UV sterilizer cause old one the bulb blew.
I bought instant ocean salt because it was the cheapest and was highly rated. Your tank looks amazing I'm hoping I have similar success lol. How does the rodi system work exactly? Because where I live lots of water consumption gets extra fees tacked on my rent.

I also use 2 Little Fishies (Julian Sprung) Accurasea1 instant artificial salt mix. A 10 pack of 10 5 gallon bags is like $35.00. Perfect for my 40B and your Bowfront as well.
Most are around 3 to 1 waste to rodi water. If you make 10 gallons of water 15 will go down the drain or can be saved and used. It's still filtered water. Way cheaper. Have 4 tanks 30 thru 75 and 10 gallons a week takes care of my top off.
