New to saltwater

Hey guys I’m new to this hobby I’ve been wanting to set up a saltwater tank for years and finally pulled the trigger !

I need all the help I can get in finally ready to start cycling I’ve got live sand and dry rock a buddy of mine gave me a vial of prodibio biodigest i will be adding it later today and see how it goes.. any tips and suggestions are def welcomed! And encouraged lol plz

I already have a problem once my sand settled my tank still isn’t clear looks like there’s sand particles floating around everywhere just making a tornado how can I get rid of them! It’s only been 3 days idk if I’m impatient or not

With new sand it can take a couple days for everything to filter out and settle down. Are you running any type of filter media? (filter socks, sponges ect...)

Welcome! Make sure you've got some mechanical filtration to get that water cleaned up. You'll likely need to scrape the inside of the glass after a day or so. I have an all in one kit I’m running a sponge a skimmer and some media that came with the kit.. carbon and some other white rings looking things (excuse me idk what they are but it said put em there lol)

I have an Aquatop 24gal kit the deal was too good to pass up

Thanks! Yes it’s the cube it has the sump but no sock just a sponge.. I was thinking about swapping the sponge for the sock

No I don’t have any powerhead just the return.. it was pointed a bit lower that str8 out but i wasn’t getting much surface agitation it was like hitting the front glass I pointed it up a bit since then.. I have a powerhead in order just waiting for it to come in
