My wife has been wanting seahorses for a long time and tonight we were givin 6 4 males with full bellys and 2 females my water temp in my 20 gallon is 80 is that ok to add them to

I'm certainly no expert, but what little I know, I beleive all horses like colder water. Hopefully Seahorsekeeper will chime in.....she knows her stuff.

Yes they like colder water.....I would not add in 80 degree water... Chillers are usually used for sea horse tanks

Horse tanks that I've seen were at 72 to 74 degrees.

Welcome to the wonderful world of seahorses! To start off, what type of seahorses do you have? Also, what equipment are you running?

I have a 20 tall drilled with a 10 gallon sump 20 lbs live rock lots for micro alge for them and was told they were pigmy

These guys? Dwarf Seahorse

If so, I would not be as concerned about the temp. Dwarf seahorses can do well in tanks that 75-78. I would still try to keep it on the cooler side.

The biggest issues with dwarf seahorses are protecting them from the equipment and feeding them. Be sure that all of your equipment has some type of mesh or foam to protect them from being injured. As far as feeding, these seahorses only eat live foods. They eat brine shrimp and copepods.

Tank mates are 2 cleaner shrimp and a pair of clowns

Those are not good tank mates. The seahorses that you have should just be kept in a species only tank. Maybe a few snails for CUC.
