Your not wrong. I had 0 idea as a kid I had to do water changes every two weeks to every day etc. if I could get my phosphates and nitrates under control that's half the battle.

Ya I will try to get those soon. I'm going to cancel my annual drive membership from my parents and focus on water testing for Christmas and birthday etc. what should I specifically ask for besides money?

I still think you should put this tank on hold and focus your efforts on the 15 gallon. I know it's not what you want to hear but it will be cheaper and easier to learn the basics on. It's hard enough to run a tank with a job, can't imagine the struggle without one. This rings especially true since you don't even have test kits, at least with the nano you can fix most issues with just "large" water changes.

I know I know. I want to but I have a feeling after I scrub my most infested rocks off, and get more funding I will be able to make efforts to turn this tank around. All I need for the 15 gallon now is a light (Kessil A80 or Hygger aquanight) Hygger is a budget light Kessil is the better light etc.

Didn't know this company even existed! Definitely can't afford a Apex NP for right now at least. I'm gonna try to pickup buy and sell broken mowers so hopefully I can save up for one... One problem I just realized I might have is cabinet space. I have a lot of things down there that I should probably remove to get more room for equipment.

If I did buy this I wouldn't have to worry about the weight that gets put on my stand would I? I am extremely paranoid about my stand or tank busting a seam or begin bowing. I'm gonna remove A LOT of stuff when I do my rip clean on Saturday. I think I have 2 refractometers?

I just wanted to know if I put things in my skimmer like media or something? And will it help with my nitrates and eventually help get rid of my algae? One last thing I'm going to rip clean a couple of my rocks does anybody have any tips on how to clean them and what to use?

I never heard of putting things inside a skimmer, I have my skimmer hooked up by venturi pump to a CO2 scrubber for PH Increase, try more water changes and feeding less, read labels and research to see if anything you put in tank will increase nitrates, and test nitrates everyday with Hanna and Salifert test kits,

Yup. You’d just have one or two containers under the cabinet.
A container for the salt water you’d be adding each day and either a second to collect the dirty water you’re pulling from the tank, or run that line directly to a drain.
You could use a third pump to add a little Kalkwasser throughout the night to keep your pH up increase Alkalinity, but you really wouldn’t even need that.

Okay, I just read more about this pump and it’s designed for freshwater dosing. I’m not sure it could handle salt. But, I do know there are single head dosers available now for $60-$80. My LFS sells them. I can take a picture of the brand when I go next week.

I wouldn't say that. I've been using Jebao DP-4 dosing pumps (and other brands like Kamoer, Neptune) with good success.

This needs to be said, and I think you're missing this: You are in control of your reef and you get from it what you put into it. You can purchase all the hardware, gear, kits, toys, chemicals, magic potions, whatever, but if you don't put the time and effort into the basics, your tank will look like a box of green soup. Your money would be spent best by putting it in your pocket, read and understand what you need to maintain your tank without all this flashy gear, and then you'll start having success. The gear doesn't make the tank, the reef aquarist does!

No, they’re not bad. I’ve been running four of their powerheads with controller box for about 18 months without any problems. They even sync wirelessly for under $40 a piece.
