Hey everyone ! I got my biocube 14 I'm looking to set up was looking for the best type of filtration to use for the back thanks!!

Welcome I would recommend a hob skimmer and some live rock.

really would depends on what you plan on doing with your setup. if your going to have a heavy bioload you may need to think about more aggressive filtration with a sump/fuge.

You don't need tank media, unless its possibly carbon or GFO.

Oh! So just throw some live rock back there maybe and I'm not fimiliar with protein skimmer benefits never used one can you tell me the benefits or purpose thanks for the help!

I wouldnt put live rock in it, in theong haul it will end up clogged just like a pad would and stsrt to createna nitrate problem. A protein slimmer removes organic and inorganic waste from the water column before it can become an issue. The bigger the better. This is a very important device in saltwater systms. Its advised notnto skimp on this piece of equipment.

I have a biocube 14 and don't have a skimmer. I might get one but if you can keep up on water changes you might not need one.

I tried not to use a skimmer and just do water changes. The skimmer won. It was a wonderful purchase. At least consider it!

Want to get one when I have less time to work on my tank, but two 5% water changes a week works for me. I would recommend a skimmer though
